Do Natural Therapies & Counselors Take Their Place in Social Media?

  Recently I was interviewed by Dr Jim Grimes, Ph.D. and co-founder of The Counselor Connection in the USA.

  Dr Jim was asking me about the benefits and uses of Social Media for Therapists.  This interview is  28 minutes long  and looks at the way in which Therapists, Counselors, Coaches and other self help professionals can use social media to position themselves as an expert in their field.

  Now, with my marketing hat on… as with any profession, knowing your niche, the itches your niche want scratched (ie the products or services which they want), the information they are looking for and any other aspect about THEM (it’s always about the client or customer….. after all, they pay the bills!) that needs fulfilling, must be completely understood by any person in business.  Consider highly successful therapists or counselors – look at why they are in the media, conducting interviews and have a busy practice – their niche and speciality is VERY clear and they play to that niche.

  Failure to understand your niche or demographic will result in half hearted results and no-one in business consciously wants half hearted results.

  During this interview we look more deeply into how to position yourself as an expert, why understanding the niche is so important and how Social Media can help a Therapist position themselves in their niche market.
