Facebook Privacy Settings

    As of today Google are indexing everything on Facebook, automatically. This simply means that our information is utilised and searchable by Google and their team of bots!

    For business, this is great news – Facebook Fan pages are a great and easy alternative to a website and now, they just got better. If we utilise our keywords, have lots of Fans (who are also indexable and searchable), make good quality, regular posts AND have a blog attached, Google are really going to love us in terms of our currency of content and information (quality is the proviso here folks!). So get yourself a business/fan page if you don’t already have one and on the double if you don’t have a website OR a Facbook Fan page.

    For some people though, they may not be so happy. Some people won’t want to be searched, found, indexed or any of the above! So, invoke privacy settings like this….

    To change this option, go to Settings –> Privacy Settings –> Search –> then UN-CLICK the box that says ‘Allow indexing’.
